The duo called the Rocketeers is made up of two members;D-win & Johnny Rocket,in the genre of hip-hop.Their newest work completed this year was the anticipated mixtape 'Stylish Shoes &Colorful Jeans'.While I listened to mixtape I broke down the mixtapes components to judge the quality of what I was listening to;lyrics,song structure,music production.lyrics are pretty substantial,the songs have a purpose ,and artist actually has something to talk about,not exactly meaningless bullshit.The songs are well contained with the 'Keys to a successful album' format: for the ladies song ,'artistic lyricism',and 'something you can vibe to in the club'.Listening to 'Stylish Shoes &Colorful Jeans' its evident that some serious work was put into this mixtape.

At this point where music is in the stage that its in ,more specifically Hip-hop,I'm very grateful for being around such musicians,that understands what real music breathes and how real music breathes and how real music lives.
At the rate that Hip-hop is going now,for the music heads it can get depressing thinking about it,so knowing real artists is absolutely a breathe of fresh air.Every time you turn on the radio you hear well produced trash that has been passed by off by the executives& A&R's as radio friendly,trendy,and Marketable to the age appropriate group that makes sales go up.and makes money.

If you're a musician with real raw talent don't sell out

This music worth listening too.The ODd Couple actually shows younger people who fallen under the "Weezy "& soldier boy act that you can actually make music that everyone will want to listen to and it'll still be actually music.

Today alot of people that are trying to become famous sell their sole to commercialism before they've even gotten their foot in the door even though this life of selling your soul maybe tempting to some ,others (like the ODd Couple)
still hold some backbone.its almost like the quote by Malcom X "A Man(/Women) that stands for nothing, will fall for anything".
ODd Couple shows our soldier boy fans,or weezy fans,and our ...well lets not go farther because who am i right?
Anyway They show our bubblegum rap lovers that you can still make good music while also making something catchy.
Music is suppose to be a play toy music is art and it shouldn't be abused
In the near future we wont need the bubble gum rap because we'll have all our real legends,and artist doing a good "catchy hit" to "real music" ratio

Hip hop needs more saviours

After an over take-on of bullshit within the music industry starting from the middle 1990's .well ..the middle 1990's no one really complained about what was going on, it was like..we're basically gonna let this slide...I just believe nothing was bad enough back then just yet for any music heads or hip hop heads to feel the way we feel about it now.Protesting against bullshit music,speaking out and confronting artists who have a part in single handily destroying the only thing that some of us have to live for...
Me personally it hurts and upsets me every time I think about it.hear the music.And just so much as seeing an artist conform just to keep his money coming in.
Music has always been a therapist for me,when I had no one else to talk to. When I was in elementary school ,I'd come home and turn on some music.Music talked to me,comforted me,understood me,and then help me think of solutions to my problems,At a point in my life i realized you are allowed to only sulk for a certain amount of time 2hrs(depending on the severity)...
Back on the subject...over time the quality of work many mainstream artists put into there music has gotten so sickening that I wont dare turn on the radio.If i did ,all I had was 95.5 smoooooth jazz.And now that's gone !Radio stations are now fulled with pure trash,if its not the music, its gossip about celebrities...who gives a fuck about that!!....well I don't,personally
Born and raised in Chicago I've seen some good and bad come from Chicago and get signed for the most part,good..there are new upcoming artists now the Odd Couple and a few more ,GLC ,he's a little more known artist(i will be posting links on how to hear them )the rest of our saviours for music,hip-hop,and our hip-hop heads some are known, but are signed to Indie Labels.Which makes life better for you as an artist that cares about their music.
